Dr. Dwarika Dhungel

An MA in Political Science from the Tribhuvan University, Nepal, PhD in Social Sciences from Nagpur University, India, and Gradutate Student, Department of Urban Studies and Planning, MIT, Massachusetts, USA, Dr Dwarika Dhungel started his career as Lecturer in Political Science at the Tri-chandra College and the then National College, Kathmandu, in March 1968. He entered government's administrative service in July 1970 as officer, Reserve pool, in the erstwhile Administration Management Department and thereafter served in various positions before he finally left the service in June 1998. After leaving the service, he became a freelance social scientist and social activist. He has participated in various task forces, national and international seminars and conferences, and has undertaken various assignments as consultant/researcher. His publications include contemporary Nepal and a host of articles on different aspects of social sciences. Dr Dhungel is currently Executive Director of IIDS.
