Structure His teaching and research publications have covered a broad range of areas in economics from micro-economic theory and the theory of optimal growth early in his career to international trade, multilateral institutions and economic development in the last couple of decades. He continues his early interest in the economic development and policy reforms of India, and has taken an interest in China's development in recent years. In a book and a number of papers, he has examined the implications of an agreement signed in 1994 that concluded the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations. In another series of papers, he critically examined proposals to use trade policy instruments to enforce environmental and labour standards and human rights. He has contributed frequently to the research and debate in India and elsewhere on India's economic reforms in a comparative perspective, particularly with China and South Asia, and also developing countries more broadly. At the LKY School, he teaches a course on Globalization and Public Policy, which draws on his research and teaching over the last two decades and on the vast literature on globalization. He also teaches a course on India's development based on his past research and his latest book, Growth, Sustainability and India's Economic Reforms . In addition to his teaching, he participates in faculty research and other seminars at the LKY School and advises PhD and other students on their research. Professor Srinivasan received the Padma Bhushan Award in 2007 from the President of India, the third-highest civilian decoration by the Indian Government in recognition of distinguished service to the nation. In 2000, he was elected Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences, USA. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Econometric Society and the American Philosophical Society.
