About the Institute
The Research and Information System for the Non-aligned and Other Developing Countries (RIS)was established after the seventh summit of NAM held in New Delhi in 1983. It is a forum pursuing work relating to global issues in the field of international economic relations and development cooperation among developing countries. It has also been envisioned as a think tank for developing countries, fostering effective intellectual dialogue on international economic issues. In order to serve as a focal point for co-ordination of research activities at the national level and to create a forum for intellectual dialogue among developing countries at the international level, RIS regularly conducts research studies, organises conferences, and seminars on themes of current and long term relevance.
